Bagbaguin

It has a population of 15,713 in the 2000 census. Considered the gateway to the metropolis from the "bukid" area of North Caloocan, Bagbaguin is about 300 meters away from the Malinta Exit of North Luzon Expressway. The barangay is divided into three (3) sitios: BISALAO, MALINIS and CENTRO. The center of activity of the barangay is CENTRO. About 70% of the population are transients composed of 30% Visayans, 20% Ilocanos, 10% Bicolanos, and 10% other ethnic groups. The barangay is predominantly Roman Catholics (70%). The second largest domination is Iglesia Ni Cristo (22%) and Charismatic Christians (8%). About 50% of the family heads are workers and laborers. The barangay has two (2) industrial subdivisions: ITC and 707 Compounds; and a residential subdivision, the Christ the King Village. Children comprises about 35% of the total population. The barangay is truly proud to have seven (7) schools for these children: Bagbaguin National High School (soon to open), Andres Mariano Elementary School, Bagbaguin Pre-School Education Program I (Main), Bagbaguin Pre-School Education Program II (Annex), Bagong Nayon Day Care Center, Bright Hope School (private) and St. Michael Academy (private). For health services, the City Government of Valenzuela maintains a facility at the 1st floor of Bagbaguin Barangay Hall a modern and spacious health center. Bagbaguin Health Center is manned by competent health personnel: 2 Medical Doctors, 1 Dentist, 1 Nurse, 1 Midwife, 1 Nutrition Scholar, 1 Dental Aide and 12 Barangay Health Workers. The Health Center is open everyday from Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm.
